Soy Panday regularly spends ten hours drawing a skateboard graphic, so I thought it only fitting to spend ten seconds drawing his, for this new guest board on Northern Co.
I enjoy sharing a bottle of wine with Soy, though you’ll notice that my glass is half empty while his is half full..
Cheers.
-Richard Hart
P.S. Graphic tastes best on dark red board.

Ryan Flores / Jameel Douglas / James Sayres, SF 2017; photo: Richard Hart
The last time I hung out with San Francisco filmer Ryan Flores was exactly three years ago. At that point, his video was "nearly finished". So when he posted yesterday that it was out, I thought for sure it was an April Fools’ Joke. But no, 'MERLOT' is finally here and worth the wait; a proper SF video full of cutty spots and raw street shredding. Good soundtrack, too.
That was a long 'nearly', Ryan..

At least there’s (currently) no shortage of skating on the interweb, including a new Ruben Spelta part on Free mag..

Luka Pinto’s new part is out now, courtesy of Free Mag.
It’s taken from the full-length ‘Pandora’s Box’ video- coming soon- which Luka (mostly) filmed and edited, showcasing the skate scene on the remote island of Jersey.

Eddie Cernicky- ride-on grind, Paris; photo: Richard Hart
I had to stand on a fragile roof to shoot this, but it was definitely a sketchier situation for Cernicky..
From PP16, out now..

Tony Miorana- f/s air, SF; photo: Richard Hart
This photo is from a previously unpublished roll of film documenting one night at a ramp party in San Francisco, back in 2001.
Full article in PP16. Excerpt from text:
In contests, people have ‘runs’, routines are perfected, time is called. There are pads and helmets, prominent sponsor logos. It’s all a bit stiff and serious.
But a heated ramp session with spontaneity and yelling and a keg of beer, on a ramp with a pentagram spray-painted on it, in a warehouse at midnight in a sketchy neighbourhood in a remote corner of San Francisco..? Helter skelter.
